You ask about the other person.
상대방에 대해 물어보는 거예요.

And how do I answer that?

And I can ask, "Where are you from?"

Yes. "Where are you from?" A friendly question.

One small tip here.
여기서 작은 팁 하나.
We say "I am," but we make it short.
우리는 "I am"이라고 하지만, 짧게 줄여요.
So "I am" becomes "I'm."
그래서 "I am"이 "I'm"이 돼요.

And for you, we say "You are."
